Tandoori Chicken is an Indian food that came about during the 1920s. It is a chicken dish that is baked in a clay oven fueled by wood/coal, which was called a tandoor. This dish was created by Kundan Lal Gujral. Kundan's resturaunt became very sucessful after the invention of Tandoori Chicken. The dish itself became a favorite to many important figures worldwide; American Presidents, Prime Ministers from all over the world, important Soviets, etc. It's amazing how it spread and how it made the tandoor something that would be a bit more recognized in the cuisine world.
Wow! I love making this dish in World Chef, though it takes a long time. I think I like it so much because of it's history, I mean, it is kinda interesting, right? Who would've thought it got part of it's name from a type of oven! I hope you enjoyed reading this post about Tandoori Chicken, and I strongly recommend making it.
